Wedding rings have become far more elaborate than they were in the past. Diamond wedding rings have become extremely popular recently. This is partially because of celebrities and the fact that every time one of them gets engaged or married, they are flashing some large diamond. It's a fact of life that some women want to mimic what their favorite celebrities have and this has driven up the demand for diamond wedding rings.
